Recent studies with peanuts have shown good adaptation to the crop and high productive potential under Sorriso conditions. However, further studies are still needed to define the best sowing time in view of possible local climatic variations. The present work aimed to study the production of five peanut cultivars submitted to different sowing times in the municipality of Sorriso. The experiment was conducted in an experimental area of "‹"‹the Federal Institute of Education, Science and Technology – IFMT Campus Sorriso, located in the municipality of Sorriso-MT. The experimental design used was in randomized blocks, each treatment with 4 replications, in a 5x5 factorial scheme, with 5 sowing times (11/07/2020, 11/28/2020, 12/19/2020, 01/09/2021 and 01/30/2021) and 5 cultivars (BRS 421 OL, BRS 423 OL, BRS 425 OL, EC 98 AO and Granoleic). The plots were composed of 4 lines spaced 0.90 m apart and 4 m long, considering 1 line from each end as a border and 2 central lines as the useful area, disregarding 1.0 m from each end. Harvesting was performed manually at 142, 143, 143, 121 and 108 days after planting, for each season, respectively. The variables mass of 100 grains, grain yield and peanut yield in pods were subjected to analysis of variance by the F test and the treatment means were grouped by the Scott-Knott test at 5% probability. Under the experimental conditions in which this research was developed, it can be concluded that in the 2020/21 agricultural year in the municipality of Sorriso, the highest peanut yields were obtained in November sowings and there was no difference between cultivars in relation to seasons. The mass of 100 grains decreased significantly for cultivars BRS 421 OL and EC 98 AO when sowed from November 28th. The BRS 421 OL was the cultivar with the highest mass of 100 grains when sown between November 7th and December 19th. In grain yield, BRS 421 OL, BRS 423 OL and BRS 425 OL resulted in the highest weights in the first three sowing times.
