Abstract

This study addresses the rights of people with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), analyzing the legal, social, and institutional advances related to inclusion, as well as the challenges that still hinder the full realization of these rights. This is a qualitative study of a bibliographic and documentary nature, developed through the analysis of scientific publications, legislation, and institutional documents related to the theme. The study aims to understand how the rights of people with ASD are ensured in the Brazilian context, identifying achievements, limitations, and perspectives for promoting social inclusion. The research is based on studies concerning human rights, disability, public policies, and inclusive education. The results indicate that, although important achievements have been made, especially after the enactment of Law No. 12.764/2012 and the Brazilian Law of Inclusion of Persons with Disabilities (Law No. 13.146/2015), challenges remain regarding access to healthcare, inclusive education, professional training, accessibility, and overcoming social barriers. It is concluded that ensuring the rights of people with ASD requires not only legal instruments but also effective public policies and cultural changes that promote autonomy, participation, and equal opportunities.
