Monitoring the temperature of molten metal is a fundamental stage in foundry processes, as it directly influences operational control, process quality, and the safety of industrial activities. In this context, this study aims to analyze the impacts of implementing a laser temperature sensor for monitoring molten metal at temperatures ranging approximately from 1,380 °C to 1,420 °C, considering the technical, operational, and economic benefits resulting from the use of this technology. Previously, thermal monitoring was performed through pyrometer readings, requiring direct operator involvement in carrying out and recording the measurements. The implementation of the new system sought to provide greater agility, continuity, and reliability in temperature monitoring, while also reducing manual interventions in the process. Methodologically, this research is characterized as applied, exploratory, and descriptive, adopting both qualitative and quantitative approaches and being conducted through a case study, bibliographic research, and documentary analysis. The conditions before and after the implementation of the sensor will be compared, considering indicators related to measurement time, frequency of readings, workforce utilization, data reliability, operational safety, costs, and production efficiency. The study is expected to demonstrate that the application of a laser temperature sensor represents a technological alternative capable of improving thermal control in the foundry sector, contributing to process modernization, cost reduction, improved operational conditions, and greater efficiency in monitoring molten metal temperatures.
