MACHINE LEARNING NA NUTRIÇÃO ANIMAL: PREDIÇÃO DA EFICIÊNCIA ALIMENTAR, DO CRESCIMENTO E DA UTILIZAÇÃO DE NUTRIENTES

Resumo

O machine learning (ML) tem ampliado a capacidade analítica da nutrição animal ao permitir a integração de dados dos animais, da dieta, do ambiente e da produção. Esta revisão teve como objetivo analisar as aplicações atuais do ML na predição da eficiência alimentar, do crescimento e da utilização de nutrientes em animais de produção, com foco nas fontes de dados, abordagens de modelagem, desempenho e limitações práticas. Foi realizada uma revisão narrativa da literatura por meio de busca estruturada em bases científicas, priorizando artigos revisados por pares publicados entre 2021 e 2026, com referências anteriores selecionadas para fundamentação conceitual e metodológica. Os estudos analisados demonstram aplicações do ML na predição do consumo de matéria seca, eficiência alimentar, exigências nutricionais, partição energética, crescimento e digestibilidade, utilizando dados fenotípicos, dietéticos, comportamentais, provenientes de sensores, genômicos e do microbioma. Random Forest, gradient boosting, métodos de vetores de suporte e redes neurais artificiais têm sido utilizados para identificar relações não lineares difíceis de representar por equações nutricionais convencionais. Entretanto, conjuntos de dados pequenos, condições heterogêneas, dados ausentes, sobreajuste e limitada validação externa restringem a transferência dos modelos entre raças e sistemas de produção. Abordagens recentes combinam ML explicável, conhecimento mecanístico e tecnologias de sensores. O ML apresenta, portanto, potencial para avançar a gestão nutricional individualizada e apoiar a alimentação de precisão, desde que os modelos sejam validados em diferentes condições produtivas.
