Abstract

Inclusive education and mathematics teaching are fundamental elements for promoting educational equity and the integral development of students with intellectual disabilities. This study is characterized as a bibliographic review and aims to analyze pedagogical strategies focused on promoting meaningful learning for students with intellectual disabilities in mathematics classes. The methodology adopted was based on the analysis of scientific publications and educational documents addressing inclusive practices, curricular adaptations, and active methodologies applied to mathematics teaching. The results showed that the use of concrete resources, educational games, contextualized activities, teacher mediation, and flexibility in assessment practices favor the construction of mathematical knowledge and increase student participation in the learning process. It was also observed that the adoption of strategies centered on students’ individual needs contributes to the development of autonomy, logical reasoning, and social interaction. It is concluded that the effectiveness of inclusive education depends on continuous teacher training and the implementation of accessible pedagogical practices that ensure real learning opportunities.
